The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) of the College of Economics and Management (CEM) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños conducted its Online Advanced ToT to the League of Cooperative Development Officers of the Philippines (LCDOP) – National for March 2022.
The training commenced with a welcome message from the ICOPED Director, Assistant Professor Liezel S. Cruz. Director Cruz acknowledged the role of ICOPED being the forefront in molding the trainers to be more adaptive in the changing times to be more effective facilitators. Meanwhile, the CEM Dean, Dr. Agham C. Cuevas commended ICOPED for its continuous efforts in providing continuing and professional education in the cooperative sector. In response, the President of LCDOP, Ms. Ciela L. Atienza, appreciated the efforts of Dr. Cuevas for his support of such training endeavor. President Atienza encouraged the learners to take the training seriously as the league aims to capacitate its members. The Advanced ToT course aims to refresh and further intensify the knowledge and skills of the Local Cooperative Development Officers’ pool of trainers, enabling them to adapt to the challenges of conducting cooperative training and enhancing the learning environment of cooperative leaders. The course introduces tools and techniques that trainers can utilize in the preparation of learning materials and in implementing training for cooperatives conducted online. The training was conducted via Zoom for 10 half-days and was attended by its members from the different regions of the country (CAR, NCR, Region 1,2,3,4A, 4B, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13). A Hybrid Training Graduation for LCDOP was held last April 11 at the Conference Room of the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Enterprise Development Office (PCLEDO), City of Batangas. The graduation was virtually attended by the graduates, Dr. Agham C. Cuevas, Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr., Chancellor of UPLB, and Usec. Joseph “Joy” Encabo, Chairman of CDA. An intermission dance number was performed by the PCLEDO staff. Selected participants also shared their experiences, takeaways, and realizations during the training. Finally, Assistant Professor Liezel S. Cruz led the presentation of the Advanced ToT graduates. A total of 51 participants completed the training course. AMQuilloy
