Undergraduate COST Courses
ICOPED regularly offers undergraduate courses on cooperatives, which may be taken by any student enrolled at the University of the Philippines, either at graduate or undergraduate level. Our Cooperative Studies or COST courses can be taken as electives, technical or cognate courses, or extra subjects of the students.
The COST courses range from basic cooperative education to theoretical and practical applications of the cooperative models and practices. These courses aim to teach the cooperative way of doing business and problem solving for socioeconomic and welfare development.
By taking up the courses, students are expected to be equipped with adequate knowledge and understanding of the real-life socioeconomic problems and challenges and solutions from the grassroots up to the policy level. The courses are also aimed at training students to become critical thinkers that are sensitive to societal issues and concerns and to become active contributors to inclusive growth and poverty reduction.
