Calamba City’s Budding Young Entrepreneurs Ready for Phase 2 of Enterprise Development Training7/13/2017 Calamba City, Laguna – The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) in partnership with the City Government of Calamba Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department (CLDD) held the culmination rites for the Phase 1 of the Enterprise Development Training or the Youth of Calamba on July 1, 2017 at the CLDD Training Center II, Mercado de Calamba. The training program aimed to boost the entrepreneurial mindset of the youth by raising their awareness, knowledge and entrepreneurial competencies, preparing them to be future young entrepreneurs and effective and efficient cooperative leaders and members. During the culmination rites, Mr. Leonardo F. Opulencia, Sr., Head of CLDD, delivered an inspiring message to the participants. He encouraged them to continue what has been started as the program was created with their future in mind. A total of thirty-six (36) students completed the Phase 1 of the training program. In the span of 10 days, the students were able to visit various enterprises and meet entrepreneurs who started young, learned how to produce various products as well as how to manage and sell their products. A series of lectures were also conducted to guide students along marketing management, production management, and financial management.
The training program shall continue with its second phase wherein the students will pursue their chosen businesses. These businesses shall be monitored and evaluated once a month. The first batch of the training program is expected to be completed by December, 2017. JRD Domingo
