Development Communication students from the University of the Philippines Los Baños partner with the Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) on a knowledge management (KM) project, which aims to streamline ICOPED’s training programs in support of cooperative development in the Philippines.
ICOPED welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing KM’s role in preserving institutional knowledge and best practices, ensuring the continuity of its mission despite leadership or personnel changes. On March 12, 2025, the students and ICOPED representatives–Director Karen Q. Custodio, University Researcher Yrelle Mae L. Dizon, and Administrative Officer John Paolo M. Opulencia, held an inception meeting at the ICOPED Conference Room to officially kick off the project. The initiative will span the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025 and is expected to produce a KM Proposal for ICOPED. It is part of DEVC 155: Knowledge Management for Development, a course that equips students with KM principles and strategies to leverage organizational knowledge for innovation and development impact.
