The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) proudly welcomes 13 student interns for the Midyear 2025. As a partner host institution, ICOPED is providing hands-on training and professional mentorship to students from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and National University (NU)–Laguna. This year’s internship program includes seven students from the College of Development Communication (CDC) and five students from the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics (DAAE) of UPLB, who began their internship in mid-June 2025. In addition, one student from the College of Accountancy, Business and Management of NU Laguna has been with ICOPED since April 2025. Throughout their internship, students are immersed in ICOPED’s research and extension activities, where they are given opportunities to apply their academic knowledge to real-world development challenges. The program is designed to sharpen both technical competencies and soft skills, including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving, preparing them for future careers in development, research, and enterprise sectors. The internship, which is an academic requirement of the students' respective degree programs, runs until the last week of July 2025, culminating in a presentation of their outputs and learnings. ICOPED remains committed to supporting the academic and professional growth of future development practitioners and cooperative advocates through meaningful experiential learning.
