Los Baños, Laguna – The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) hosted a seminar entitled, “Social Entrepreneurship for Inclusive Development” last August 29, 2017 at the ICOPED Auditorium.
The guest speaker was Ms. Enid Kathleen B. Madarcos, Chief Development Officer of the Social Enterprise Development Partnerships, Inc. The topic discussed the basic concepts and nature of social entrepreneurship, emergence and implementation of social enterprises, their expansion, integration, and consolidation. She also discussed the challenges faced in social entrepreneurship. Students and faculty of the College of Economics and Management (CEM) and other colleges attended the seminar. An open forum was held to entertain questions and to exchange ideas. The activity is part of the CEM Seminar Series, a monthly seminar hosted by the units of the College of Economics and Management. The CEM Seminar Series is open to the public.
