![]() Los Baños, Philippines -- The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) held its Strategic Planning Workshop for 2016-2018 last May 30, 2016 at ICOPED, CEM, UPLB. The workshop aimed to set the roles, responsibilities and expected contributions of each of the faculty and staff of ICOPED for the next three years. During the workshop, the strategic thrusts for academics, research, and extension programs of the Institute were identified and in line with the thrusts, planned activities for each program were set and discussed. Among others, ICOPED aims to revitalize its Master of Management major in Cooperative Management (MM-CM) Program and undergraduate cooperative courses through enhancement of individual courses and active awareness drive among students and prospective students within and outside UPLB. For extension activities, a series of youth awareness seminars, trainings for cooperatives and accredited training providers, and livelihood seminars for cooperatives have been lined up to be conducted for the next three years. Several case studies and researches related to cooperative development enterprise are also in the pipeline for implementation. Lastly, a new website for ICOPED to further expand its reach across the Philippines and abroad is targeted to be launched in July 2016.
