The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) recently conducted a two-day Business Planning Training Course on January 30-31, 2025 at the Palomo’s Farm Resort, Guimba, Nueva Ecija. Funded by the Peace and Equity Foundation, Inc. (PEF), the event equipped 14 cooperative officers and staff from the Cooperative Enterprise for True Economic Reform (CENTER) with essential skills to strengthen their capacity in business planning anf enterprise development for their Rice Processing System (RPS 2) awarded by Philippine Center for Postharvest Development Mechanization (PHilMec) in 2024. This initiative aligns with ICOPED’s flagship extension program which provides professional training to cooperative stakeholders nationwide as an accredited training provider. The modules covered the basics of enterprise development, enterprise conceptualization, strategic planning, and drafting the components of a business plan. The lectures were followed by a series of hands-on workshops enabling the participants to draft actionable plans tailored to their cooperative’s needs. A series of online meetings will be conducted to monitor the progress of the cooperative’s business plan. These follow-ups will address the challenges in finalizing strategies for their expanding rice processing operations. Further updates on CENTER’s progress will be shared following the online mentorship sessions. YLDizon
