ICOPED braves a Hybrid Training in Pangasinan

The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) of the College of Economics and Management (CEM) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños held a Hyrbid Training of Trainers (ToT) for Accredited Training Providers (ATPs) of Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO)- Provincial Office of Pangasinan last April 4 to 7, 2022. 

The training commenced with a welcome message from the ICOPED Director, Assistant Professor Liezel S. Cruz. Director Cruz appreciated the presence of the participants and encouraged their full participation during the training to make out the most experience in their journey towards becoming an ATP of CDA. Meanwhile, the CEM Dean, Dr. Agham C. Cuevas assured the participants that the TOT will equip them to be more resilient and dynamic in facing uncertainties in serving the cooperative sector. Dean Cuevas is also hopeful that the TOT will ignite a fruitful partnership between ICOPED and the PPCLDO. 

​The last day of the training concluded with training graduation physically attended by attended Mr. Ellsworth G. Gonzales, the Department Head of PPCLDO; Hon. Alberto A. Sabarias, the Regional Director of CDA Region I- Extension Office, and Assistant Professor Liezel S. Cruz, the Director of ICOPED. The UPLB Chancellor, Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr. virtually attended the graduation ceremony. Dr. Camacho emphasized the contribution of cooperatives to the economic growth of the country. He appreciated the efforts of ICOPED being instrumental in contributing to the professional growth of cooperative trainers. He sincerely acknowledged the trust of PPLCDO given to ICOPED and UPLB for the conduct of the training for their staff. A total of 27 PPCLDO staff completed the training course.
The ToT for ATPs of CDA aims to provide enhancement of trainer’s knowledge, skills, and attitude in conducting trainings for cooperatives and enterprises. Resource Speakers for the training were Assistant Professors Ceptryl S. Mina and Ma. Theresa M. Castro-Bernardo of ICOPED and Dr. Mildred O. Moscoso and Dr. Benjamina Paul G.
