The Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development (ICOPED) initiated a meeting with the Laguna Prime Multipurpose Cooperative (LPMPC), former UPLB Credit and Development Cooperative, last April 21, 2022 for collaboration.
The said meeting aims to provide opportunities to students with cooperative as their chosen field of specialization. ICOPED’s proposal covered a scholarship grant for the undergraduate student of BS Agricultural and Applied Economics (BS AAE), and an award (Best Thesis or Special Problem) for research in the field of cooperative studies. The LPMPC shall finance the scholar and cash prizes for the propsed programs. The scholarship program aims to equip the student towards the cooperative profession, while the research award aspires to motivate students to conduct studies on cooperative development. ICOPED hopes to attain more partnerships with other organizations and expand areas of service in providing opportunities to students who envision themselves as part of the cooperative sector. The meeting was attended by the ICOPED Instruction Committee members, Director Liezel S. Cruz and Assistant Professor Ceptryl S. Mina; the LPMPC Chair of Community Development Committee, Mr. Leonito Donoso and LPMPC Staff, Ms. Bettina Mari Dalisay; and the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics Instruction Committee Chair, Assistant Professor Christian Paul L.
